Drinking Problems

Steven woke with a start. Alcohol fuelled tremors racked his body. He felt so cold. The faint odour of vomit reached his nose, with a sigh he looked around searching for the source of the sickening fumes.

Steven noticed a bowl on the bedside cabinet but realised it was clean. It was at this moment he remembered his girlfriend had stayed the night and she was missing. His heart went into his throat. She must have finally had enough.

Steven climbed out of bed and went to the kitchen moving with the speed and grace of a zombie. He turned on the tap and was traumatised by the loud buzzing of the water tank gushing water into the sink.

As he shut off the water he heard a shuffling coming from the living room. Steven walked in cautiously and saw his girlfriend on the sofa.

“Morning Princess.” Steven said, with a tone of happiness not commonly associated with how he felt. He was met by stone dead silence.

            “Talk to me love.”

“Four fucking times this week Steven, four!”
